Scam Phone Calls : What You Should Know

Scam phone calls are dishonest attempts to trick people into giving them money, personal information, etc. Scam callers will often impersonate a company or other individual and try to gain your trust in order to gain information to do all kinds of damages.

There are all different types of scammers out there, and they can be on any type of platform. They can be on phone calls, social media websites, social media apps, etc.

Craigslist is a good example of a place people often get scammed. I personally have dealt with a scammer saying they wanted to buy what I was selling, and asked me to share a code with them that they sent to my phone number to prove I was human. I immediately knew that this was a scam, and blocked the individual.

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. Assume every unknown caller is not trustworthy. It’s better to be safe then sorry! Let’s say somebody called claiming that you won a prize from a website, assume they are not who they say they are. On the internet anyone could say anything, and in a lot of cases they can be convincing.

Be sure to stay safe online! The internet is a HUGE place!
